Oil on Canvas

This painting depicts a little girl standing in front of a mirror, who is trying on new sandals. She doesn't know if she likes these sandals or not. The girl is confused, and seems to be slightly off the floor, suspended. I wanted to reflect such moments in my childhood when you are in an infernal state.
In some ways, the idea of this picture is close to the idea of the film Cría cuervos. Carlos Saura said that he wanted to show that as a child you don't understand where you are going. They just take you and take you away, forcibly push you somewhere, and you are in constant fear.

The girl was so engrossed in reading the book that she did not notice how dark it was. I've always been fascinated by the transition from a sunny day to dusk. It happens very quickly. In an old Moscow apartment, only the glare of the setting sun draws the outlines of objects, and the rest of their shape dissolves into shadow.

The nun is completely immersed in her thoughts or prayer. She is in her spiritual world, and it is as if only a cut rose flower will connect her with vitality. The painting is painted in a dark color scheme using the ancient technique of three-layer painting.

Harlequin - this painting refers us to the theme of Russian art at the beginning of the 20th century, when the characters of the сommedia dell'arte were very popular. The painting depicts a middle-aged man staring intently at the viewer. The attributes of Commedia dell'arte categorically do not suit him, he does not look like either an artist or a comedian. This is the image of a man who is simply forced to pretend. In his hand he holds a small harlequin doll, which he strangles.

The landscape depicts a quiet corner in the Ukrainian town of Truskavets, where there was a beautiful resort with healing water.

The irony of this picture is that the girl does not want to wear a heavy antique dress. She seems to be flirting with plaster figures, arguing with them with the whiteness of her curved back.
The painting is painted in the technique of layered painting. First, a cold substrate was made on the canvas, and then a warm top layer was prescribed. This effect is especially noticeable on the girl's body. I really like the similar effect in the works of Gustav Klimt, I would like to repeat it.

Watercolor on Paper

The painting is made in watercolor technique, which allows you to express the unreality of what is happening. The fairy-tale fairy seems to be sleeping in the grass. However, one might also think that she is dead. The work refers us to the theme of Ophelia, which many artists have addressed. As a rule, Ophelia has already died in these paintings, but she seems to be asleep. In my painting, it's the opposite.

The characters of William Gibson's science fiction novel Mona Lisa Overdrive. This work is considered a classic of the cyberpunk genre.
Cyberbank is a subgenre of science fiction that shows a dystopian future where technology has advanced and human culture and morality have degraded. Cyberpunk involves the development of technology and the introduction of artificial intelligence into people's lives.

A fantastic cyberpunk story about a teenage Mona, who bears a striking resemblance to the star of Simstim, and about a secluded artist named Slick Henry, who is hired to look after a comatose cyber cowboy.

Charcoal on Paper

In this work, I wanted to convey light falling on figures of various textures using such a fragile material as charcoal.

It's a bit of an ironic picture on the subject of gender. Such a peculiar yin and yang. The plastic model of a man's hand is pointing upwards and seems to be "broadcasting" something. The model of a woman's hand is loosened and lies on the table, in addition, her index finger is missing. The idea of the painting is complemented by black and white draperies.
